This N That (May 2015)

Every so often its fun to scroll through my phone and see what we've been up to. Here is a look at our month of May.

We took a trip to the library. Lydia is becoming such a great reader. I love hearing her progress. And she LOVES books which makes me, her Mom so thrilled.

We love to pull off the side of the road and check out the beaches and sunsets. We had never been to this beach. It was calm and beautiful.

This lone tree growing out of a rock is lovely in its own way.

We drove all the way up to Dededo to check out their Saturday farmers market. We bought an island broom for our friend Sharon's new home.

We invited our friend Savleen over to play and then we took her swimming.
She had never been to a swimming pool. Lydia's suit fit her perfectly and man they had a good time. I loved watching her. She liked the steps that led into the pool.

Jumping in made her super nervous. But she did it. Once.

They both loved their hot showers.
Random switch in topics. I learned how to make Curry. Thai Curry. I had to find this paste at a ghetto grocery store in Agat. But I found it along with some bamboo shoots and coconut milk. My friend Paij taught me how to make this before she left the island. It is spicy. I'm not usually a huge fan of spice, Tyson teases me and tells everyone that I think milk is spicy. But this stuff is good.
We visited our friend Brother Shirai. I didn't take his picture. But here is a picture of his boats. He is a fisherman by trade. He gave us some Mahi Mahi and I cooked it up for dinner one night. It was delicious.
We took a drive one evening and stopped to check out the view.
Every few weeks Tyson has duty at the hospital. He spends the night and has a whole list of duties to do to make sure things are safe and secure. We always take him dinner and we eat it in this room.

We skyped with the Coles and we snuck in Maveric's room and watched him sleep.
The Hunts had us over dinner. April is such a good cook!
Here is my sweet friend Ermina and a few of her lovely daughters on Mothers Day.
This was my Mothers Day gift. It is a scripture case. One of the missionaries, Elder Matalolo took our money and gave it to a lady on another island called Koshri and she made it for me. It is beautiful! I love it!!!

This happened all week long leading up to Mothers day. Lydia had all sorts of surprises for me. Oh and I love Family Circus, if you didn't know.

Reading books before bedtime on Mothers day.

 Sunset.
Lunch with Tyson and Lydia at Pika's Cafe. It was delicious. For dessert we tried their famous Nutella Banana popsicles. Yum! I love her smile.

Missionaries came for dinner and we had some Wubble Bubble Ball fun with them.
We had a special Stake Conference with Elder Cook and a few others. It was a broadcast to all the Pacific island. Savleen and her sisters had these ribbons in their hair. Their Mom ripped up a shirt for them. Aren't they adorable? The conference was wonderful too. The topics were keeping the Sabbath Day Holy and making Sacrament more meaningful on Sundays.
After the big typhoon 75 % of the island didn't have power. These girls were among those numbers and they didn't have school. I told them they could come play with me while Lydia was at school.
She didn't say it but I think Savleen thinks my house is too cold. That or she just really love our OU blanket. Ha ha.
We curled Lydia's locks for her kindergarten performance. Lydia's curly friend Sadie came to school with straightened her hair for the program. Her Mom, Beth and I had a laugh about that.

Tyson asked Samantha if she could go anywhere in the world, where would she want to go and she said, "the movies." It was so sweet and sincere. Weeks later we finally decided it was time to take these cute girls to the movie. We picked them up and wish we could have taken their whole family and neighbors with us. One cousin tried climbing in our car.
We watched the movie, Home. It was in 3D. The kids loved it!
Lewis likes to keep me company while I paint.
 Cute wittle guy.
7 months later and Lydia's room is decorated. Tyson helped me hang loads of pictures on her wall.
Our one store on base had these super cute towels. One in each of our favorite colors and after 7 months of beach days we can always use towels.
Last Sunday we went to the court and shot the ball around. We ran into Tyson's boss and had a nice chat with him.
 This tree is awesome.
Lewis had been hogging the remotes.
Our Ward held some Coconut Olympics. It was a hoot.
My iphone did not do this sunset justice at all. But it was beautiful in my rear view.
We love watching the sun dip into the ocean.
A guy posted this on Memorial day. He was diving and she saw this flag on an abandoned sunken ship. Wow.
I hung up some of our art in Lydia's room. She insisted her family portrait have eyes. So I caved and put some eyes on us.
Lewis loves sleeping on Lydia's bed while she's at school. Sometimes he sleeps here until her bus comes at 3 p.m. Lazy boy!
Lydia drew this picture of her Woolf cousins. I love her art!
Mayleen and Smiley came over to play after school last Friday and I made them do an ab workout. Ha ha. Its hard!
Then we played at the park until the sun went down.

Life is good.
