Beach Babes

I needed a beach day, so I hauled these girls to the beach with me. We had swimming suits that fit all of them. I have quit the stash of them. I loaded up before we came.
Gab Gab was not crowded. Just us.
The tide was super low. It has been for quite some time. You have to walk out quit a ways in order to swim.
I wanted to try a cool hair shot with Samantha's awesome hair.
She nailed it.
Snorkeling. The water is so clear.
Symerin is 4. She hung out near me for most of the afternoon.
Savelyn found this beautiful shell. A crab was living inside. He had crazy eyes.

Endless fun in the sand.

Beautiful mermaid.
Lydia's attempt for an awesome hair shot was hilarious.

We got the shot. Way to go girl!

Catching up & Fireworks

Summer time is the perfect time to catch up with old friends. I had the chance to do so with some old High school friends and a good friend from my College days too.

Sara invited us to her parents backyard pool. It was beautiful space and a perfect day to be in the pool.

Stephanie, Tiffany, Sara, Me & Alysa.

I few days later I met up with these girls at my splash pad.
Bridge, Myself, Alysa & Hilary.
Sicily & Lydia used to play together when they are babies and now they are SO tall.

Summer is also a great time to carry on great traditions....like the WSU fireworks. This year we invited the Elliott girls to join us. (Cameron was in Payson) We arrived with plenty of time to spare. Enough time to have a little hair fun,
to meet Waldo,
take a walk down to the duck pond,
pose for a pic,
or two,

play some card games, eat treats, people watch and visit with the Coles.

Lydia loves her Nana!

Those dang canons get me every time.
It was a great night!

Lemonade & a Blob

Once a week I head up South to take care of these munchkins. Jake had big plans to have a lemonade stand. I switched his location from the corner of the street to the splash pad and they did great.

The girls hollered to the word that they had ice cold lemonade and Jake did the pouring. They got more customers when I wasn't lurking around....so I came and went as they did their thing. They came home with $9.

Lydia has always wanted to have a Lemonade stand so she was thrilled to do this. Tyson and I say its bad luck to drive by a stand, we always stop! I remember being a kid and wishing more people stopped at my Kool-aid Stand. I was thrilled that they had success.

My plan for the afternoon was to make a Blob.
Jake starting squirting the girls with the cold hose water. Brrrr!

Maverick finally woke up from his nap and he came out to join us.
I dare say that he liked it the most.

My favorite photo of the afternoon.

Granddad got in some the fun after his day at the office.
Kelty the dog even got in on some fun.

The Blob- is pretty much a waterbed for your front line. I found the instructions in the Family Fun Magazine, but I am 100 % certain that you can find them all over the internet. Google away.

But here is what I did:
1. I bought the plastic for $10 at Lowes. (in the painting section.) It comes on a big roll.
2. I folded it in half.
3. I ironed the edges using a piece of parchment paper between the iron and plastic and this sealed the edges together. It was awkward and took about an hour. But it wasn't hard.
Then I SHOULD have duct taped around the entire edge for more reinforcement.
4. Instead I filled it with water, added some food coloring and the kids helped me find any leaks. Then I taped them up.

We added some Dawn dish soap on top for a while and some water to make it more slippery. It held up great the entire time even with a few leaks.

The instructions say it is typically only good for one day. I cut a few inches off the perimeter  and took it home and later on this summer we can do this once more, only it will be a tad smaller.
