Cultural Night

Our Relief Society Presidency planned a Cultural night for us. Lisa (on the left) asked me to be the official photographer of the evening and so I have lots photo to share of this wonderful night.
This crew helped with all the decorating. (Wright, Kata, Arcayan & Ta'ase)
Sister Aviata, our new Samoan from Australia with the BEST accent in the world was the brains behinds this palm tree heart.
The cultural hall was covered in them. So beautiful!

These little girls (our neighbors) take Cultural Dance class after school so they came to entertain us. They were great!

We learned more about the Phillipines, Guam, Fiji and Chuuk.

Elder Kata & Holmes sang for us! It was so sweet.

Some young women did a weaving demonstration.

We ate lots of delicious food!

I love this boy Ty! Isn't he so dang cute!
His older brother is a master weaver. We are going to have him over to teach us.

We then congregated outside to for some more entertainment.

This 22 year old showed us his jaw dropping fire dancing skills. He started practicing at age 11.

Brother Shirai is a fisherman by trade. He brought in a big fish and showed us how to gut it. It was super gross. But what a skill.

I can't get enough of Ty and those sweet eyes!

Lillian and Alan weaving.
He made this fan for sister Aviata.

Elder Aracayan made me this headband. Lydia wore it the entire following day.

It was a treat to attend this event. I love being surrounded by people who have different traditions, customs and skills.

I loved seeing all the pictures of your ward party. What an interesting place you live and what fun cultures you are being exposed to. Thanks for letting me have a window into your world.
