I thought attending a Sacrament Meeting in Merizo (a tiny village on the southern part of Guam) was pretty special. But it turns out that baptisms in Merizo are even more amazing.
The Elders and Senior missionaries haul the chairs to the beach front and then we usually wait. Island time is a real thing here and we wait for everyone to show up before things can start.
It is a beautiful place to wait, the kids play in the sand, Senior couple men play with the crabs, I get to chat with the other ladies and Tyson skips rocks into the ocean. Lily was the first one in her family to get baptized and now her brother has followed, her Aunt and the missionaries are still working with her Mom.
I gave Lily a picture of the Savior with children to tape up in her bedroom. I hope she will always remember this special day. She's a sweet heart.
Tyson is the ward mission leader and he gets to conduct at most of these services. Isn't he handsome?!
Lydia will turn 8 years old while we live here on Guam. I told her she gets to choose to be baptized in the outdoor font at the Church building or in the ocean. She told me she will think about it.
