Tyson once again accomplished another 1/2 Marathon. He is amazing!
He had a rough two weeks prior to the race. The first week we had a run in with some bad chocolate which made him sick for 2 days. The following week, 5 days before the race he had a stomach bug and was out for another 2 day.
He was also in the midst of his final comprehensive exam. His group was given their topic and had less then a week to get it all put together and ready to present to a group of U of U faculty. It was stressful to the max. He wasn't able to do much prep for the race those last two weeks, I don't think he did any to be honest.
He says it wasn't his best running day but he still did great in my eyes. I was near the finish line with my poster and camera cheering him on. He finished with the time of 1:41. I was so impressed.
I love this shot of Dad waiting and watching for his girls to cross the finish line.
It was a beautiful day to watch all of these runners.
Everyone did so great!
Everyone did so great!
No rain. Like last year. Yay!
After he finished we went up to the bleachers to wait for Mom and Sarah to cross.
It was Mom's second 1/2 and Sarah's first.
They both were rock stars.
We waited to cheer on the marathon winner.
Here he is. They announced that he was in the top 30 of the Boston finishers this year.
He almost beat the Ogden all time record too.
My sign says it all.
Way. To. Go!
Way. To. Go!
Way to go finishing this race, way to go finishing off this semester of school with amazing grades, way to go getting your first job assignment with the US Navy, way to go writing one of the best comprehensive finals your profs have ever seen....way to go graduating with your two year Masters degree in only one and a half years. Tyson has accomplished all of this and so much more since returning to Utah and I couldn't be more proud!
Love you babe!
