Adam Ondi-Ahman & Mississippi River

A few words can perhaps describe our experience at this site.

Beautiful. Solitude. Green. Peaceful. Holy.

It was a Sunday morning, around 11:30 a.m. We were the only car in the lot. The skies were rolling with distant thunder and the air heavy and humid. In between the claps of thunder all we could hear were birds singing in the trees tops.

I’ll let the rest of the pictures do the talking.

We didn’t want to leave this place. We took our time walking, ate our lunch slowly and stalled as long as we could until we had to get back on the open road, the spirit I felt and I think Tyson would agree was so peaceful.

Lydia needed a nice long nap after a late night party in our hotel room the previous evening.

Don’t know how she managed to stayed asleep on these roller coaster roads.

A few miles before Nauvoo we were excited to come upon the Mississippi River, a river I’ve only read about in books. It is SO big. Beautiful? Yes, because of how wide and long it is. The color nor the speed at which it was flowing is anything to mention, but it was lovely just the same.
