If you’ve ever wondered about the statues at Nauvoo, this is the post for you! Just outside the main visitors center is a Garden full of statues. Lydia (3.8 years) happily insisted on being in a picture with every single one.
While we were busy snapping pictures Tyson was visiting with Sister Anderson, our Sister-in-law, Kathy Goodrich’s, parents are on a working mission in Nauvoo. I told Tyson to keep his eyes open for her and after the words left my mouth, he looked up and she was the first person we saw. She was covered in dirt as she worked on the beautiful flower beds. She works every morning with a group of sisters from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the grounds of Nauvoo. I took a picture of her later that evening when she was in a show.
Aren’t all those statues beautiful depictions of women in all stages of life. My favorite one is the mother playing with her children, Ring around the Rosie, the stage I’m in right now. Although I’m sure I will grow to love all the stages of motherhood and life that await me. Tyson’s favorite is the last one of Emma & Joseph Smith.
Lydia loved them ALL!!!!
