Lydia planned a Lemonade stand with our backyard neighbor girls Sarah & Emily.
I hung out and tried to read a book under my tree while these girls got busy selling lemonade but I ended up visiting with lots of neighbors that I've never talked to be much before now. The girls earned $28.
Lydia is great at looking up and noticing beautiful sunsets.
The three of us on the 4th of July.
We spent some time hanging out at the Shirai's house one morning.
We watched just about every US Women's soccer game live at our friend Becky's house. Man, those girls were amazing and I don't think I've ever yelled at a TV so much in my life. Ha ha!
Every so often I crave a Snapple. They bring me back to my younger years.
The Shirai family got sealed in the Phillipines on the ward Temple trip. I didn't get to go but I told Willie that he better take a picture of them for me to see and he did and it made my heart leap for joy.
I made some sidewalk paint for Lydia and the Garcia girls to play with.
Lydia has been busy doing RAZZ kids. A reading program her school uses and she has earned lots of points this summer.
I woke up one morning to a text from my Guam friend Mandy. She moved back to the States and she hung a painting I made for her in her front hallway. It made my day.
Lydia woke up one morning to THIS. Ha ha. She was scared to have Rapunzel in her room the night before and made me take her out and I thought this would scare her the next morning. It didn't.
This dang tooth was wiggly all month long. I'm not a fan of the teeth part of parenting.
A whole slew of our friends auditioned for this play and we went to support them. Our friend Isabel got to play the role of Cinderella and she was amazing.
The whole production was fabulous!
One Friday night I went to go summon Lydia home from the Garcia's home and this is what I found them doing. They were having so much fun and even though it was past bedtime I couldn't get myself to make her come home.
A few tubs of water made for a perfect Summer evening in Guam.
An afternoon at the pool.
Underwater camera fun.
Lydia enjoyed her first LATE over with her Sarah. They played, ate dinner, played some more, watched Matilda for the first time and played even more. We took Sarah home at 9:30 and Lydia thought it was the best night ever!
Sports Night at the church. These boys cracked me up.
A cast member from the Sound of Music put this on for the neighbor kids in Bountiful Utah. I thought it was so clever and I was wishing Lydia could go. I wanted to save this idea. I love creative people!
This talent and creativity blew my mind too. My friend Joyce invited us to her kids birthday party. It was out of this world. She can decorate cakes like nobody's business.
Day 2.
We explored a new shore we'd never been to before now. Gorgeous.
Lydia's foot was bugging her and Tyson was sweet to carry her around.
I have a thing for these girls too. They are so darling. We took them to the pool this day for a few hours and then back home again. The following day their brother Smilie called to tell me that their house burned down. This house right here. I will share more about that later. Heart breaking stuff.
It rains like crazy here. SOOOO much rain. Tyson could have taken a shower outside. Ha.
I love a good game.
We went school shopping....in July. Is that cruel? It was to Lydia. I took them home and put them out of sight. I know things here go quick so I wanted to get it bought. No, we didn't buy this Cat book bag....but it did make me laugh.
I caught Lydia reading to Emma one afternoon and then Emma would read to Lydia. Nothing better than this.
A Canadian Elder finally came to our area. He is from the same ward I grew up in.
That tooth FINALLY came out. Geesh. It cost me 12.99 but she finally pulled it out. She wouldn't let me do it, or Tyson or the dentist.....but one morning I told her I would buy her the new Elsa Barbie if she pulled it out right that very second.....I said I would go to the store right now and buy it. I honestly didn't think she'd do it. I had offered other bribes before and she turned them all down. Not this one. She pulled that sucker right out in 2 seconds. Blood everywhere.
We love a good sunset!
I opened the blinds one morning and found this wittle guy hanging on my outside window.
Not my shirt, but this made me laugh. One morning I was reading Lydia her spelling words and instead of putting them in a sentence I thought up a song for each word and sung it. Ha ha.
These kiddo's thought pumping gas was the coolest thing ever!
Tyson and I had a night out for a Hospital Navy event.
The dress code was 'Island Crisp.' It was a yummy night with great company night. We drove to and from with the Garcia's.
The Lalatins just moved here. They sat with us. They are awesome. We are always happy to make more friends.
