The world lost a good man this week. Our dear friend Ron passed away at age 60. Tyson and I were very saddened by this news. We're still digesting it. We met Ron right off the bat when we bought a house in Ogden after we'd been married for almost a year. He lived down the street and around the corner from us.
Tyson and Ron served in the Young Men's together for 3 years. Tyson as the Scout Master and Ron as the President. But they have stayed friends ever since.
Never had we seen someone put so much heart, time, love, money and devotion into any calling before.
Ron took such good care of us and such good care of all of the Young men in our ward. He knew all of Tyson's details down to his favorite drink and would drop off bags of them. He remembered us at birthday's, Christmas and in between. He would often ask to take us to dinner just to get to visit us. (More with Tyson than myself.)
He played the piano and sometimes the organ in our ward. We would always catch him driving by our home to check up on us. He had a blue truck. He let us borrow his fancy car once for some reason I don't remember.
Tyson spent many countless camp outs with the young men and Ron during those 3 years including a trip to the Martin Harris Pageant where they spent the night at Ron's Mom's home.
Ron typed a personal journal during the time we lived by him and he would send it to Tyson and a few of his other close friends. I never read them. But I heard them were pretty special.
We know Ron financed some of the Young men's mission's in the Memorial Park ward. He loved the Lord and did so much to further the work on the earth.
When Lydia came into the world she loved Ron too.
He will be greatly missed by us and all that knew him. But I know he is already serving and loving the people he's reunited with on the other side.
