Guam Perimeter Run

It was a hot Saturday morning. Lydia and I drove down to the village Agat to wait for Tyson to cross the finish line. He had woken up much earlier than us, around 3:30 a.m. to go run a Perimeter Race around the island.
The Sisters lived in Agat and they came to cheer on all the runners with us. We were pretty much the only cheerleaders there. It was hot. I already said that.

It was a relay race but the teams ran together for the last stretch. This team came in 2nd. They were from the High School. Wow! The winners were a team called, 'Guam Runners Club'. Yep, that makes perfect sense.
Tyson's team came in 8th place. They did great! He ran two different legs of the race. He made great time on both of them. He said it was SO hot. His body heated up and their was no way to cool it down.
I didn't make this sign. I have no idea who did. But Tyson was holding it after the race. Ha ha.

Here is his official team. They all work at the hospital together. 4 teams were put together at the hospital this year and Tyson's came in first. Woo hoo! They were thrilled about that.
After the race, they all enjoyed some eggs, bacon and a few of them kicked back a can or two of beer. Ha ha.
The sisters and I had a laughing attack over here. Lydia impersonated an old man cheering. It was so random and she sounded like an old man. It had us bent over laughing for a long time. "Nice work Denato."
I took some more group photo's of Team Shiatsu with an ocean view. After I finished I was standing on this table (don't remember why) and there was an earthquake. We feel them often. But this was was a big one and it made my heart skip a beat.

One of the wives designed the team shirts. I needed to take a closeup. It has all of the runners names on it in the shape of a palm tree but from afar it also looks like a Latte stone. The latte stone is a symbol of freedom for Guam and they are everywhere. Man, I was blown away by this design. People are SO talented!

Way to go, babe!
