My Sunday afternoon blogging tradition went out the window during the month of February. We have been going for more Sunday drives than ever before, doing some kite flying, baking and sneaking in an occasional nap.
I think I will devote another time during my week while Lydia is gone at Kindergarten because I definitely want to keep up my record for my family of our life here for the next 3 years.
Someday's I wake up and absolutely love this place. I love that I can exercise every single day outside and enjoy a beautiful ocean view when I get to the top of my morning route. I love that we live in a super safe neighborhood with lots of kids that ring our doorbell wanting to come in and play. I love the people here that I've met so far, military friends and islanders.
However yesterday was not one of those day. I walked around our grocery on base I witnessed for the first time lots of bare shelves due to the fact that we are at the mercy of the shipping companies here. I couldn't get many things such as bread, chicken breasts, some dairy products or any appealing produce. Crazy! This weeks dinner menu's are going to be interesting and I'm definitely motivated to get more food storage once again. I brought a decent amount with us but not nearly enough.
But overall the good out weighs the bad and I try not to focus on the negative too much or else you'd all be hearing about maggots right now and I'm still trying to forget about that incident. Eeew!
Here are some pictures I took on one of our Sunday drives. We went to one of the villages called Talafofo and explored a bit there. Enjoy!
