VIP Week

Lydia got to be the VIP in her kindergarten class during her Birthday week. We colored this poster together and she told me what to fill in on all the blanks and it hung in her classroom. She got to take Show and Tell every day and I think she was the teachers helper as well.

On Friday I got to come to her class and we did a presentation together. I had to tell all about Lydia and then teach the class something new.

We taught them all about Musicals. (What they are, a story told with songs and dance.)We showed them her playbills she has collected and then we told them about her experience. What is it like auditioning, call backs, going to rehearsals, wearing a microphone on her face, costumes changes....etc. We brought along her cast shirt, her program and a picture of the VonTrapp family. We told them a little bit about the story of The Sound of Music and then we showed them this clip and this clip.

At the end Lydia demonstrated how to curtsy or bow and the children joined in and we explained the definition of a curtain call and standing ovation.

Nobody moved a muscle while they watched her these scenes. You could hear a pin drop.
PS. The kid in the dinosaur get up is her new little buddy Carter, I hear about him all the time. The little red head boy on the right, (Zealand) kissed her on the arm the second day of school. Funny story. Ask me and I will share. ;)
