After our tour inside the Temple we headed out to Hooper to get our quilting on.
These cloud formations were more impressive in real life.
Grandma Goodrich bought this pretty blue fabric (Kaneesha's favorite color) in Australia and sent it to us to quilt and give to Kaneesha and Riley for a Wedding gift. These sister-in-laws of mine are master quilters.
It must run in their genes because Tyson can tie quite a good knot too. ;)
We totally bonded over this thing. Especially when it was time to roll the dang thing. ;)
Our entertainment during the next two days involved watching the fence go up in the backyard.I spent so much time in the kitchen that I figured I'd make myself useful and I re-organized the 'junk' drawer. My mother-in-law and I both have the same address book that we bought years ago. We must have good taste. ;)
I came across these itty bitty pencils of Tyson's Dad. He is a Use it up, Wear it out or Do with out....kind of man and these pencils prove that.
The house was taken over by little girls for 2 nights. We had Courtney while her Mom was at Girls camp and Ali invited her friends daughters over as well.
The girls got busy painting these canvas bags one evening. I bought some pump spray and some acrylic paint for them to use. They each were so creative.
After a crepe breakfast they went outside to finish the other side of their bags.
The turned the basement into a hair salon and the upstairs living room into a school house. These girls know how to have a fun time. Lydia was in heaven.
The finished products/art! They wanted to take their cute, new bags shopping so they begged Ali into taking us all to the Dollar store.
Later on Maddie and her friend came out to play in the sprinklers and shortly the rest of the girls (and Owen) joined them.
I blew up some pools for them to use.
We spent our last evening with the Elliott's at the beautiful park up on the mountain playing ball in the field and then we treated them to Hooki Lau for some shaved ice. We were SO sad to see them go. They arrived clear back when Lydia was finishing up the Sound of Music and we enjoyed every ounce of their company throughout the month. They are the best guests a host could ever want. They were all so good to Lydia. They taught her all sorts of new things, including how to tie to shoes.
I was a bit teary as they drove off. We don't know when we will see this crew again. I hope it isn't too long. But who knows. I hope we made enough memories to last us until we meet again.
