The week of shows finally arrived. I made sure to keep Lydia on a strict sleeping schedule. She was in bed by 11:30 p.m. most nights and slept in until 11 a.m. most mornings. It was painful but I made her take it easy, so no trips to Cherry Hill, no neighbor friends over to play, we said no to some fun play date invites and steered clear of outings in the sun. We stayed home most days and kept life simple so she would have plenty of energy for each nights show.
We started getting her ready at home which included a good dinner, hair and makeup. Once we arrived at the school she put on her leotard, tights, shoes, mic belt and then her costume. She was always ready to go by 7 p.m. warm ups. It was quite the process. Taking the make-up off was at night was tortuous to a tired 5 year old but she got the hang of it.
My tickets.

I didn't get pictures of everyone who came. Lydia wasn't permitted to come out in costume and some people had little ones who had to get home and get to bed. But I did get a handful of friends from near and far who came to support Lydia. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It meant a lot. You have no idea!
Opening night: Eastmans from Oklahoma. (Lydia's Sunbeam teacher and my sweet friend and her oh so tired girls. The production ended a little after 10.)

Nana & Granddad came a whole bunch. On opening night they bought her new jammies.
Aunt Bev & Uncle Richard all the way from Alberta, Canada.

Vinnie & Rylee Feller.
Felsteds & Caldwells.
Jones & Goodworths.
Monday night: Young Women from the ward, Bob & Holly Scott, Paula & Sister Grundvig.
Scott & Margaret.

Sister Grundvig bought Lydia every kind of M&M's. So sweet!!!
Tuesday night:
The Pauls & Lunds.
Granddad. AGAIN!
The Lunds.
Aaron & Ellie (Kurt & Marta)
The Endfields came to see Captain VonTrapp- old friends from days past.
Lydia loved meeting Wendy's (Maria's) daughters for the second time.
Dad's cousin and her daughter who played in the orchestra.
Closing night: Wednesday
Ty, Megan, Leah & Annie.
Nana & Granddad (yet again!)
The Elliott's all the way from Arizona.
Her Dad bought her these beautiful flowers.
Every night I had everyone who came to see Lydia sign a scrapbook page that I had made and I showed them to her after the final show. We didn't attend the cast party...so we had our own with her cousins when we arrived home. It included her favorite....popcorn!
On the final night Maria (Wendy) told me that they put real presents in the fake honeymoon prop presents and that each VonTrapp got to go home with one. Inside Lydia's were band-aids...so fitting!
We were sad its over but more happy that it happened!
