Rehearsing and more rehearsing

Meet Derek: the stage manager. I didn't even know what a stage manager did. I've quickly learned that he does everything but direct and act in the show. Everything I tell ya. He has been so helpful to me....the new stage Mom who has a lot to learn.

Lydia's costume for a photo shoot. (not the real deal)

Maria and VonTrapps minus Rachel. (Louisa)

Stage sisters. Instant friends.
Ellie is 8. She is actually taller than Lydia but not by much.
Aaron is 12 and extremely talented.
He impressed me at the auditions and I had my fingers crossed that he'd get the roll.
Thunderstorm scene.

On the 'bed.'
She tried on a few more costumes....including her traveling clothes.
(These are not what she will be wearing either.)

Saturday Morning rehearsal included the entire cast.
Uncle Max is a hoot.
I love his acting, speaking voice and singing voice. You will too!

The following week the cast worked really hard perfecting the music portion of Act 2.

The concert scene has lots of difficult harmonies for everyone to learn and some of it is acapella.

Coo coo's.
Flitting and floating....
Off stage fun.

Friday Night they did a run through of the entire show and they  included a few costumes. The costume designer is amazing. I'll share more about her later.

Leisl and Rolf were nervous for their stage kiss. They hadn't done it yet...and Maria and Captain were giving them a hard time about it. They finally agreed to do it during the first full run through and Lydia made sure to not miss it. PS. I know I say I love everyone...cause I do...but I really LOVE Rolf. Sweetest teenage boy ever!
Waiting for the THUNDERSTORM cues.

Maria in her night gown.

Meeting Elsa for the first time and giving her adeleweiss.
She's got the 'sleeping' down pat.
Wedding scene.

Here is Leisl's reaction when she finds out that Rolf is on the wrong side.
Lydia's last line of the show is: "Isn't this God's House?" She is supposed to say loudly from behind a tomb stone.

These will be their real traveling clothes but they are not fully completed yet.

One Saturday Morning they had a lines and blocking rehearsal only. No music.
Lydia found this to be odd but she went with it.

Last Saturday was our last morning at Clearfield Community Arts center.
We really enjoyed evenings spent there. Lydia knew every nook and cranny of that place as she played Hide & Go Seek with Ellie and Aaron in between her scenes.

I always had a comfy place to sit and watch. I have plowed through a handful of book while sitting at these rehearsals. It has been fun getting to know the cast and I've obviously taken way too many pictures. I sat here behind the piano. The music director Johnnie is extremely talented on the piano. He plays through the show every night.
Lydia and the other girls admiring Maria's wedding dress.

This is the scene when the Captain hears his children sing for the first time. It is one of the scenes that makes me cry.

Lots and lots of work I tell ya. But it is going to be fabulous!

I won't be able to come to Lydia's performance although I wish I could. Please post some videos of it online after the show so we can all enjoy it from afar.
