Caterpillars and cupcakes.

I met up with my sweet friends, Jess and Steph at Farmington Station to catch up, eat some lunch at Cafe Zupas and enjoy the sunshine. Here is Lydia and little Reese at the fountains.

Avery and Stephanie.

We ordered these little guys and they were delivered right to our doorstep.
Did you know that you could order live caterpillars on-line?
I used to order them yearly for my preschool class.
Lydia has been having fun learning all about their cycle and watching them change.
We had an after school party on the porch with some of my young women and neighbors.
We ate snacks, painted nails and did some art.
Ayelen, Marco, Berenice, Lydia and Yey.
We laughed a lot. This is a fun bunch of friends.
The Sunday prior to Easter Lydia and I sang Gethsemane in our Sacrament Meeting at church.
She sang the first verse and chorus by herself. We practiced as much as we could so she would feel confident and it payed off. She did such a great job.
Nana and Granddad came to 'cheer' her on. She loved having them in the congregation.
From my view at the pulpit, everyone, young and old had the biggest grins while Lydia was singing. It was quite the sight to see.

The ward blew up with love for Lydia. She received so many sweet comments, we had phone calls after church and even a bishopric member came over to our home to tell her how much he loved her song.
I taught my friend Yey how to make cupcakes and frost them for our Relief Society birthday party.
Our spinach is beginning to sprout. Yaaaaay!
The Bertoch family stayed with us for 2 nights during their spring break.
Lydia adores Cache, Brynn and Cole. They are fantastic people.

She spent one afternoon playing with them at Get Air in Kaysville.

Every time her caterpillars grow and change Lydia has being drawing pictures of her findings.

We tried our hand at sock curls.
They turned out so cute.
All you do is slightly dampen the hair.
Wrap the hair around the sock starting at the root.
Tie the sock together
and then head to bed.

And lastly.....
Lydia and Courtney found a new way to have fun at Nana's house.

My son Nathan has those same caterpillars at his preschool. I love watching them change form and I can't wait to see them turn into butterflies. I wish you could have recorded yourself and Lydia singing the song at church. I always thought it would be fun to sing with my girls at church. But I'm not that great of a singer and none of them would ever consider singing in sacrament meeting. Booo.
