We recently embarked on a road trip to Phoenix.
Tyson and I love road trips and we are grateful that Lydia does as well.
We loved that it is only a one day drive and that the further we drove the warmer the weather became.
I also loved when these beautiful cacti's came into view.
Tyson's sister lives in a beautiful neighborhood.
While Tyson and Ali were off on a 10 mile run the rest of us went for a nice stroll.Lydia wanted to take a cactus picture and her cousins were happy to join in.
I love these beautiful girls. Lydia is so lucky to have such sweet cousins. They played long and hard every day all day long and had a marvelous time. Fact: Gracie is 9. Lydia is 5.
These two became besties in no time flat.
One afternoon we went to Cameron's first soccer game of the season. It was a warm 80 degrees and we soaked up as much sun as we could.
During half time Maddie took it upon herself to entertain us. She is a gymnast through and through. I can't believe I get to be related to someone so talented!
Paul is one of Cameron's coach's.
Their new home is so beautiful!!!
We enjoyed lots of evenings in the backyard.Ozzie is their long time 4 legged family member. He is a sweet heart.
These two are best friends.
Over the course of the weekend we attended the Renaissance festival.
The venue was massive.
We attended a couple of shows, ate some yummy food, saw some awesome animals and did a lot of people watching.
On our way home from the fair Paul drove us to to the newest dedicated Temple in Gilbert, Arizona.
It was beautiful.
Twirling outside the Temple.
Can you spot Paul?
After playing at the park one afternoon I snapped a few more shots of Madison's killer gymnastic skills.
Tyson showed off his skills as well.
Tyson instigated a rock throwing contest. We had to hit the rock at the bottom of the canal. Who knew such a activity would be so fun or last so long. ;) The prize was an Icee at Target. Goodrich's like to win!
We enjoyed our time in Arizona so much.
The Elliott's are great hosts. We love all our conversations, staying up late, seeing their sweet life and new home. Lydia was teary eyed when it was time to watch the kids bike off to school and for us to go home.
She is already looking forward to seeing those cousins again this summer.
