General conference Talk challenge

Along with a few other trinkets we also bought each of our Young Women in our ward a Conference Ensign edition. Attached to it we issued them a challenge. I've a passion for studying the conference talks and I hope the girls take this challenge and learn to love them too.

Challenge: read every single talk in the November Ensign before the next conference begins.

Facts:
It includes: 39 talks total
One talk takes Sister Goodrich an average of 15 minutes to STUDY.
39 talks x 15 minutes= 9.75 hours

If you finish this challenge by or before Saturday April 5th :
*we will take you out for a treat
*your testimony will grow and you will be closer to your Savior
*you will pass off a 10 hour goal for your Personal Progress. Woo hoo!

How Sister Goodrich learned to love studying these talks:

Choose 3 highlighters.
As you read look for 3 specific things and highlight the talks as you read them.

1.    Things they ask, urge, plead or command us to do. (yellow)
2.    Warnings they give us. (green)
3.    Blessings or promises they give us if we heed their counsel.  (pink)

You will find these 3 things in each talk. Then choose one thing they have asked or urged you to do and work on that specific thing.

You can also circle stories, scriptures or quotes that you want to remember or mark new things that you are just learning for the first time. Pray before you read each talk and the spirit will help you learn.
Put a nice big check mark on the index page after you read each address and be sure to star the talks that become your favorites.

You don’t have to read them in any specific order.  It is up to you!

After you accomplish this challenge you will be able look back on these talks and use them when you are asked to speak in church, or give spiritual thoughts in Seminary or teach a lesson for Family Home Evening.

You have 14 weeks to finish this challenge. If you read 2 talks per week you will finish just in time.

Good luck and we love you,

Orchard 4th YW Presidency
