On Martin Luther King Day, Tyson didn't have to work, study or go to school and so we jumped in the car and drove up to the Mountains after lunch. It is only a 15 minute drive. Sweet eh!
We arrived at the Snow Basin Ski resort, it was sunny, warm (35 degrees) and the air was as fresh as could be. We would have loved to go skiing, but man alive, that would break our bank account.....so instead we sat in the outdoor lounge area and soaked up some Vitamin D.
The sun was hitting the untouched snow off the side of the road just perfectly and it looked like crunchy diamonds had been mixed in. Tyson agreed with me, you'll just have to take my word because my camera did not capture the sparkling affect.
We found a trail and did some winter hiking.
It was mostly downhill, so Lydia rode the tube for most of the way.
We realized we had to walk back to the top of the trail head eventually and didn't know if her little 4 year old legs could hack it, so after a while we turned back.
But first, Dad had to dive in the snow and make an angel.
It was so deep if you happened to step off the trail.
I came home with some pink cheeks....and it felt good!
I love the winter. But if spring decides to come sooner than later I wouldn't mind that either.
