Tyson is wrapping up his 2nd year of teaching Seminary. Yay! I am so proud of him. Each morning he wakes up after 5 a.m. to get to ready and to the church by 5:55 a.m. He’s ready to go by 6 a.m. Those kids are on his mind every day, and every night for at least an hour he removes himself from us and buries himself deep into his scriptures to prepare for the next days lesson.
He’s amazing in my eyes. I’ve loved seeing him grow and change for the better. It has been his most challenging and time consuming calling he’s ever had. But with that said he’s loved the chance to study the scriptures and teach from the Old Testament.
I hear nothing but sweet comments from all of his students, past and present. I got to rub shoulders with many of them last Sunday at Seminary Graduation. They love Brother Goodrich and I think they are all pretty lucky to have him.
In fact they loved him and learning the gospel so much, one student (Tanner) asked him if he would teach an extra week, (the last week of school) and Tanner rallied up some students to keep coming even though it was not required because Seminary is over after Grad.
Tyson agreed to do it. So sweet. These kids are strong and amazing. I’ve loved hearing about them.
I tried never to complain about getting woken up that early, ( I did get pretty good at sleeping through it) I mostly just counted my lucky stars that I could stay in my warm bed while he had the tasks to go teach, uplift and assist in bringing the spirit into these teenagers lives.
I kicked myself for forgetting my camera for Seminary grad. But I had these filed away from a visit we made one Sunday night when he had to do some prep work.
Lydia drew this in the corner of his white board & Tyson left it up for his class to see. It is her latest family portrait. So precious.
