The Young Women in our ward were asked by our Stake President to read the Book of Mormon before girls camp. We decided to encourage them in this endeavor and we planned a little Pep rally. We met at park. Each class did a few skits about when, where and how to read our scriptures. I wrote lyrics to a song for the leaders to sing. It was silly but had a good message.
Beehives.
Miamaids.
After the skits the girls went off and read their Book of Mormons. Aren’t they a beautiful sight? I couldn’t help but take pictures of them. I would have read with them, but I had to loan my book to one of my sweet beehives. I love these girls!
Afterwards we gathered together and some of them shared about what they read or feelings they have about reading the scriptures.
Then we roasted marshmallow's and ate smores.
Along with the original food, I also purchased those stripe cookies because I think they make the best smores. Mmmm! Sister Jensen told me the girls they could have the regular smores or the new Sister Goodrich ones. The girls hadn’t had them before…I didn’t know where I first ate them or got the idea from, so I told them they were Canadian. Ha ha!
It was a special night. I got to speak to the girls too, about WHEN to read the Book of Mormon. Everyday, right? I know that my days go so much better when I open my scriptures and feast on the words, whether it be for 1 minute or 30 minutes. They are a blessing in my life and I love them and I know these girls do too.
