Story Time

We are going on 3 years of attending our weekly story time. There is a large Asian community in family campus housing. We drive over and join them each week for stories, songs, a plate of fruit & cheese and a FREE book.

The weather is nice enough that we’ve been meeting outside again. Miss Christy (on the left) is the story teller and Lydia enjoys her very much. Caden joined us on this day when I brought my camera along.

My friends Hilary & Jenny join us as well. P1300538

I was going through my book collection and realized how many we’ve received in just the few years we’ve lived here. They are donated from the United Way, I can read program. I found a handful of them and used my blow dryer to peel all the stickers off.

Here are a few of our favorites. This was has very little text and she still soaks it all up.

This one cracks us up and will be great when she reads on her own. Photobucket

We’ve gotten even more since I took this picture. I am truly grateful for programs like this that encourage reading and that give away ALL these great books. The books get used and receive lots of love in our home. Its tradition that Lydia comes home from story time, crawls into her Dad’s lap and he gets to read it to her for the first time.

My newest favorite book I’ve received is called, “Llama, Llama, Red Pajama’s” It is probably not a new book. but it is new to me and I adore it!

My Mom sent a package with this new book called, “Yes Day,” neither of us can get enough of it!

Oh, Llama Llama Red Pajama is my favorite too! I read it to Dawsyn tonight for bed. There are a few more Llama Llama books that I haven't read yet. Thanks for sharing, I will look up "Yes Day."
