6.2010 {Bye Bye Crib}

For the last few weeks Lydia has been climbing in and out of her crib. She was still sleeping in it just fine but it was driving us a little bit crazy. We know she is a good little climber, but it obviously isn't safe, especially when it is dark in her room. Anyways....she was just trying to tell us something and we finally got the message! She was ready for a
BIG GIRL BED!!!
Luckily we had one on hand and just had to put it together. We bought it off some members a while back for only $10. It needs a new coat of paint. I will get to that, no worries.

Here is Daddy taking apart her crib.
She wasn't sad at all...just kind of curious to what was going down.

Here it is. I kept her bedding from her crib because it fit perfectly.
We were so excited to show it to her and she couldn't stop smiling at the sight of it.

I love that smile! So big she can't keep her eyes open. :)

We were nervous on how the first night would go. We had the Elders coming over at 8 p.m. I knew if SHE knew they were here she'd never go to sleep. She absolutely adores them!!!! So I put her down at 7:30 p.m. I checked on her once before I went to bed. (Snapped a picture.) She was sound asleep and Tyson checked on her at 9 a.m. (she was still asleep) but she heard him and woke up to another camera lens in her face. Poor girl. :)

Good morning Sunshine! (Didn't edit it this....Dad took the picture....weird.)
Don't know where the haze came from...his thumb maybe.

Call us crazy parents, documenting her every stage, but I guess we are realizing this phase of her life is going by so fast and we are just attempting to hang on to it. We've already said goodbye to bottles, now a crib, next will be binkies and then diapers.....and well I am as sentimental as they come...and always have been.

Dear Lydia,
You did it babe! I shouldn't be surprised. You are pretty much awesome at everything you set out to do. Even staying in a big girl bed all night long. I love you so much. Don't grow up too fast ok. Love, Mum

Wow, I forget Lydia is only about a month and a half older than Ty - she seems so much older! I can't imagine Ty in a "big boy bed" yet, but way to go for Lydia!! But kinda sad for Mom, right? :) Another growing up milestone....
