Lieutenant Goodrich

Happy Veterans day.

I am so grateful for my Grandfathers who fought in WWII. I shared their stories with Lydia yesterday as we were driving on this beautiful island. She enjoyed every detail that spilled from my lips.

Guam is full of history and stories from WWII. So much happened here.

I am grateful for everyone who still serves our country and protects our rights and freedoms.

I am gaining such a deep appreciation for the Military. My knowledge of it has grown in leaps and bounds. I knew practically nothing about this world over a year ago and now I live in the thick of it all. It is another world. For months I had no clue what people were talking about it. Ha ha. True story. But I'm learning all the acronyms, titles, ranks, ships, different commands, duties....and so much more that goes along with this life style. I'm always asking questions and making people explain to me everything I don't know.

For Red Ribbon (Anti Drug week) the kiddo's were supposed to dress up like their Hero.

Lydia said: "Mom, if I dress up like you I will hurt Dads feeling and if I dress up like Dad I will hurt your feelings." How sweet is that? I solved her dilemma quickly and told her to dress up like her Dad. Our friends lets us borrow this uniform for the day.

I followed my little Navy girl to the bus stop.

Leftover glitter from her gymnastic hair. I'm pretty certain this would be frowned upon in the Navy. ;)

I think she chose a great hero!
We sure love her Dad and all that he does to support and take such good care of us.

Oh my goodness, she's adorable! As a gymnast and as her hero. She fits right in to the navy life. I think your hubby is pretty great, too, and admire what he's doing. And you for packing up and changing your whole life - so exciting and scary, but you've documented it so beautifully. I love to read your posts.
