Tyson played on the Navy Hospital Guam (NHG) team this year. They had a long tournament called the Captains cup against all the other commands. The league started in the summer and we were able to go to all of the games. He was one of the other Officers who played on the team. It was him and a bunch of young and fit enlisted fellows. (And a few ladies too.) Sometimes it feels even more hot and humid in the evenings here. He played a few games in the rain....other nights the bugs were out like crazy....etc. Its always something here.
He kept up and played hard. He scored the goal to put his team into the championship game. I missed that game but he came home and drew me a sketch to make me feel like I was there. NOT the same thing, but better than nothing.
During one game he scored with a sweet header. After the game he said it was so wet and humid he thought the ball might slide right off his forehead in the wrong direction.
I made sure to make it to the Championship game. It was double elimination and his team won with 2 minutes left in the game and then didn't have to play another game, thank goodness. I love a good intense games that ends with a win! So exciting!
Way to go NHG!
