Tyson woke up determined to go hiking one Saturday morning. By the time we got ready, cleaned the house a bit and drove up to Anderson Air force base it was just after noon. I wasn't thrilled about hiking in the heat of the day, but I went along with these two.
This steep trail near the coast isn't always open so when Tyson read that it was he was excited. He is a rock star and hauled down all of our snorkeling gear and everything we needed.
On the trail and our destination behind us.
It was very steep and the whole time going down I couldn't help but realize that we were going to have to climb back out of this place.
We arrived and we were hot and ready to jump in the ocean.
We had gorgeous views from every angle on this very secluded beach.
We snorkeled, got pummeled by some big waves, we swam, soaked up a lot of sun, took lots of water above and under the water and enjoyed every minute.
It was a tad rough go getting back up to our car. It was hot, & very humid and Lydia and I usually avoid physical activity in the heat of the day. But we made it. The hike out didn't phase Tyson one bit. He's camped in this heat, ran the perimeter race around the island and plays soccer.
We came home and crashed hard. It was a super awesome day.
