Moving Day

Moving day finally came. We had lived on the Island 6 weeks before we got to move into our home. We were offered a home that we could have moved into right away but it didn't have a back door, very much storage space and Tyson wasn't a fan of all the orange trim. Waiting for another home was a tad inconvenient but definitely worth the wait.

First we lived on Nimitz Hill, then the Outrigger Hotel and we ended at Navy Gateway on Madrid Circle. We stayed there for 27 days and after that long it started to feel like home.

Bernie was our house keeper. I loved getting to know her. She is a sunbeam. Always smiling and oozes with happiness. We exchanged digits and said our goodbyes. She doesn't live too far from our new home so I'm sure we will see her again.

We sent Lydia off to school on the big day and then went to go see our new home.
This is it!
Lydia's bedroom.
Master bathroom.
Long hallway.
Lydia's bathroom.
Extra room. We are still deciding what to do with this space. Suggestions?
Master bedroom.
The kitchen, laundry room and the door to the garage are on this side of the home. The back of the home has a big screen room. I didn't take a picture of it but its there and its nice.
The movers worked hard all day. They emptied 3 crates, took a break and then came back to empty 3 more. I fed them lots of Oreo Cookies and ice water. It is all I had on hand.
I sat in our hot garage and they read me the number each box and I checked off each one. Everything arrived and in great condition.
It was difficult to understand their accents but I managed.

Lots of boxes.

We tried to get Lydia's room semi set up before she came home. The Collins picked her up from school and she played and ate dinner with them.
The movers helped Tyson put the bed together.

Paij and Sister La Rose brought us dinner that night. It was so thoughtful. Our doorbell rang a few time and little kids were asking Lydia to play. It was a good day. We felt so loved and welcome.

I had fun making towers with empty boxes.
The following morning Tyson built me a new book shelf for all of my Children books. He loves me. ;)

He had his physical training test that morning at 5:30 and he stayed in his exercise clothes to work.

After the shelf was put together he went to work on our entertainment center I bought at Ikea before we left Utah. All of the pieces were there! Woo hoo!

Lydia was happy to come home and see her new home and bedroom.
Here were are outside our home about one month later. It is slowly starting to feel like home. We are mostly unpacked. It's been a long time since all of our belongings have been under the same roof so I had lots of organizing and de-junking to do. I'm working hard to find a spot for everything. Its a slow process but things are starting to look and feel good.

I love your new house. How fun to be back with all your stuff again. We lived away from our belongings twice for a few months while we had kids. When we finally got back with our stuff again it felt like Christmas.
