Disney Eve & Disney Day 1

After waking up in Vegas we jumped in our car and headed towards California. The main reason for this road trip was not to visit Mickey Mouse but to drop off our car off so it could get shipped to Guam. Tyson did great finding his way all around this busy city. The actual drop off place was in Comptom, CA. The process took about 2 hours total. We had too much gas in the tank, so Tyson had to go and de-fuel. I didn't know that was a thing but it sure is and we threw away about 50 dollars worth of gas. Booo. Oh well, now we know.

We rented a 2015 Toyota Corola to use for the rest of the trip and to take back to SLC.

We found our hotel in Anaheim. We stayed at the Best Western. After eating a yummy dinner at Denny's Lydia wanted to go for a swim in the pool. We met a nice couple from the UK and I enjoyed visiting with them. I think that is one thing I really loved about this trip was visiting with all the people in all the lines. Tyson is so good at striking up conversations and it makes the wait a lot more entertaining.

After the pool we drove as quick as we could to the Ocean. We barely made it in time to see the sunset.

We put our toes in the water, Lydia and Tyson played tag on the beach, L found some seashells, we walked along the pier and spotted some seals in the water. VERY cool!

DAY 1 at Disney Land was full of excitement after lots of anticipation.
We walked right in, turned the corner and there was Ariel. BAM. Lydia was in heaven.

While making our way down main street to the Castle they played "Zippity Do Da" over the big speaker, a favorite childhood song my Dad used to always sing. I got a little teary eyed being in this magical place as a Mom with my very own little girl. It was our first time here together as a family.

Lydia called this place the Disney Temple.

Lydia was tall enough for every ride and since it was just the 3 of us she was brave and went on all of our favorite rides with us. Indiana Jones ride is one of our favorites! She closed her eyes for most of it.

After we scared her half to death on Indiana Jones we thought we'd hit Fantasy Land next.

Tyson found an app on his phone that told us how long all the waits for each ride were. Here they are waiting for as I filled up our water bottles.

Minnie Mouse is as cute as can be!

Mickey Mouse gave her a big kiss!

We stopped to eat some lunch. The night before we bought a pizza and we brought it in for our lunch the next day. Tyson found a nice table in the shade and we were happy to sit down and eat. Lydia went to go watch the beginning of the Star Wars show. It was just around the corner from our table but we could see it from our seats. After the show had begun I said to Tyson, "We'd better go see the show just in case Lydia was chosen." So he did and she WAS. Ha ha. I grabbed my camera so I could take some photo's of her learning how to be a little Jedi.

After fighting this bad guy she earned a Jedi certificate. It was a highlight of her day!

Disney Land in October is SOOOO much fun. I loved all the details in all of the decorations.

The parade was the highlight of my day. I loved all the floats, characters, costumes, music....wow! When the first Frozen float came out I had tears again watching Lydia see the real Elsa and Anna. It was a magical moment.

We followed the parade out and left the park. We turned off the light in our hotel room for about 2 minutes so let Lydia fall asleep. It took about 30 seconds and she was out. We didn't last much longer. It was a great first day. We packed in LOTS of rides and did a lot of walking. It was a great first day!
