Bear Lake & Childhood (part 4)

I read this gem while at Bear Lake. It is now up their with my favorite parenting books. I loved every beautifully written chapter. It has so many great reminders and ideas on how to slow down in this crazy world of ours and intentionally enjoy moments with our children.

My photography took a new turn while I was reading this book. For the remainder of the week as I looked through my lens I tried to capture the magic of childhood that Bear Lake seems to create effortlessly.

Bear Lake ooozes with opportunities for a magical childhood.

Bear Lake has: secret places, no schedules, open spaces, locations for exploring, one on one time, moments for good conversation, its dirty, its quiet, its peaceful, it teaches about nature and it brings around endless chances for pretending.

Pg. 13 We mistake activity for happiness, so we stuff our children days with activities and their heads with information, when we ought to be feeding their souls instead.
