Tire Gone Missing

The phone rang at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, it was Tyson and I wasn't expecting him to call until his shift ended at 5 p.m. He was calling to tell me that someone had stolen his tire while he was inside his work...working. (Doctors office, safe part of down, broad daylight.)

Whaaat?

This is how it all went down, he got in his car to drive the 2 miles home when he realized something wasn't right. So he pulled over, got out, looked and realized their was a doughnut on the car, in place of our tire and it was not screwed on properly. It was not our spare tire. Whaaaat? He slowly drove back to work, went inside the building to tell his co-workers his plight. He thought maybe one of them had pulled a prank on him. Nope. They were all dumbfounded as to why our tire was missing. The police were called, a report written up and he came home.

It took some time for us to wrap our minds around this one.

Why would someone steal a tire? Our tire? Not even a fancy tire. Did they need a matching rim? Were they desperate? Fact: Their were a lot nicer cars in the parking lot? Why the Mazda? Did they not see the Audi or the Volvo next to him? Nobody would assume someone were stealing a tire in broad day light. Would you? I wouldn't. What thief is nice enough to put a spare tire back on? Who does that? Really? Common. Thanks. I guess.

The police chuckled at the situation. So did the claims office of the insurance company....and the nice friendly men at Discount Tires. We had to join in and laugh too. What else do you do?

We got it replaced and just in time.

Two days later we were driving in North Salt Lake and our truck had a  nice big flat tire. Those nice men at Discount Tires sold us 4 new tires. Lucky them.

This was not our week for tires.
