In the Navy Celebration

Tyson joined the Navy. Whaaat? Never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth, but they just did, I am going to be a Navy Wife. Crazy! We had a friend get together to celebrate this wonderful news. Nathan invited some of our friends from up north and Devin invited the rest from down south. I had no idea who was coming. Tyson thought we were only meeting Nathan and Devin, so it was a fun surprise when the waiter took him to this long table (and booth).

We ate at Mararoni Grill in Salt Lake and then went to my in-laws for some crepe cake. (Tyson's request.)

Man alive do we ever have good friends, it was so good to get out, catch up on everyone's lives and laugh. I laughed a lot.

Here is some info on the Navy just in case you were curious. Tyson will get payed an officers salary while he goes to school and once he is graduated he will work as a health administrator in the Navy for 3 years. We will  move to who know's where, Hawaii, Maryland, Florida, Guam, Germany, Japan, San Diego....anywhere there is a Naval base I guess, it will be another adventure, that part is certain.

It was a tough scholoarship program to get.  He had to get accepted into his Masters program before they would process all of his applications. It was a long interview process....it took months and a lot of waiting, praying and was a pretty stressful time of life, but we felt the Lords hand deep in our lives and the doors kept opening and things kept working out. Thing never quite happened on our time frame, things always took longer than planned, but that is ok because we learned a lot of patience with this whole process.

He is attending the University of Utah in their Public Health program. He has to get it done by August of 2014, so he doesn't get any breaks from now until then. He will go straight through and do summers as well.

Yes, I said the U. Eeeek. My husband is a HUGE BYU football fan....it has been a funny transition for him to go there. His Mom bought him a Utes shirt, a gray one....with no red whatsoever....and he still has yet to try it on. Ha ha.

Man, I am proud of him. He works hard and he is accomplishing everything that comes his way!
