We were ready to go, except Tyson needed to finish out his week at work. The Taylor's were out of town and let us stay in their huge, beautiful home while they were gone. It was such a blessing. Moving is emotional, stressful and not fun. But having a place to stay, bed, food...and a pool on top of that made it as easy as it could be.
I spent time organizing, relaxing, writing letters to all my friends and even hosting a wedding...sort of. Tyson did all the wedding planning.
Yes, this was very random. Tyson's friend and co-worker was down one afternoon and work and when they got talking he asked Tyson, "Do you know anyone that could marry me?" Chris and his girlfriend wanted to get married, obviously. Tyson said, "Yes, as a matter of fact I do."
A week later they met with the Bishop, were interviewed and then we arrived for the ceremony at OU campus.
Bishop Nabors did an excellent job.
It was a gorgeous sky this evening.
After the wedding we went back to the Taylor's made some food and played in the pool.
Dad treated me to the Waffle House the next morning, Lydia had her free coupon from reading. We love this place! Mmmm!
Check out how many ways they can make hash browns. This makes me laugh. I'll have them smothered, covered and chunked, please. Haha.
We stopped at the store and had one last visit with my Connie. Miss her like mad. Going grocery shopping will never be as fun anymore. She works at the photo studio and has taken Lydia's pictures a few times. She's awesome!
We had plenty of issues with Budget. The lights did not work on the trailor car, so we went and exchanged it, then that evening Dad checked the tires and one of them had wire threads showing on the bald tire. It would not have made the trip and road side service came and replaced that. What a disaster that would have been!!!! We were extra grateful for Dad's thoroughness in checking all the vehicles, inside and out.
We were all ready to go, once more, just waiting for Tyson to get off work. I invited a few friends over....and everyone seemed to be busy on a Saturday, but the Goepferts dropped their kids off for me to take care of while they ran some errands.
Lydia, Guy and Emily.
We enjoyed one last meal with our friends. Here we are in a house full of boxes and camping chair too. Ha ha. Sharon was in the process of moving too, this is her new home.
We ate chicken that Charlie grilled, double baked potatoes from Hilary and a delicious cookie dessert.
Dawn & I did eachothers girls hair.
Reading this cookie was the first time reality started to slightly sink in. The next time was when we pulled away from Norman.
After dinner at Sharon's I invited all my girl friends to come over for a late night swim, a few couldn't come....but I did get to say goodbye to them. We didn't do a whole lot of swimming, but we had nice time visiting, laughing and crying at the end. That part wasn't nice. It sucked actually. It was so hard to say goodbye to these girls. I hated it.
When I went to bed I found this little lamb sound asleep like this. This move was pretty tough on her too, I noticed lots of new behaviors in her, such as have random accidents, needing to sleep with us at night....things she never does on a regular basis. She understood what was going on, and although I tried my best to make it a smooth transition her little world as she knows it was being flipped upside down and that was her way of letting me know.
It was off to bed for us and our last night sleep in Oklahoma.
