Nauvoo Temple

A highlight of our trip to Nauvoo was doing a session in the temple. We went to the 5 p.m. session so Aunt Peggy and Uncle Ross would be able to take care of Lydia for us.

It was beautiful beyond words, inside and out.

After our session, Temple president Condie took us on a tour on the entire temple. I told him that I was Sister Ash’s niece. I think he assumed we had driven from Canada too. We started in the baptistery, then took the elevator up to the 5th floor, he would have led us up the 195 stairs to the towers, but they had sprayed for spiders that morning, darn it.

He showed us most every room on each floor. The carpets, chairs, dark wood works, stained glass……oh….everything was incredible. Nothing beat the spiral staircase in my books. It is gorgeous and it made me feel like a princess as I descended it.

It was a most beautiful evening when we walked out the front doors of the temple. P1310733P1310723 P1310725 P1310749P1310724      P1310730 P1310731

Tyson’s favorite feature of the temple are the stain glassed star windows.

We had a late dinner, a delicious dinner, made by Aunt Peggy when we returned. While we were eating Lydia found a pillow and blanket and put herself to sleep on the couch, (her bed). It was the sweetest thing. How I love that girl and that the temple makes it possible for my little family to be bounded together not only in this life but for eternity.
