This is the book! The magic book. Ok, so it is not really magic.
But it works. We are on lesson 13 and Lydia is learning to read.
It tells you what to do step by step, what to say….you can end up sounding a bit like a robot, so you have to make it fun.
I make it so fun that Lydia asks me if we can do reading lessons.
We do one or 2 lessons per day as long as she is having fun with it. They are fairly short and only take about 6 or 7 minutes. We’ve skipped a couple days here and there, and it hasn’t been a problem.
It begins with introducing letter sounds and then they build on each other, they master one and then you add another and put them together….and so on. It is pretty cool! I’ve never taught anyone to read before. I’ve come to conclude English is a tricky language.
During our latest lesson she read: SEE ME EAT, MAD AT ME
She’s doing great and I am super proud of her!

My sisters have all used this book to teach their kids to read before kindergarten and they swear by it! I have been trying to teach Sicily on my own, but maybe I will have to order myself a copy.
I've used this with both my boys! LOVE it!
