Ice Cream in January

See that? Yep, ice cream in January.  The weather in January & so far in February has been incredible! If it wasn't for our blizzard experience in Kansas of all  places we wouldn't have seen any snow this year.   I guess winter could still be around the corner, but I see no signs of it yet.

Caden spent the weekend with us recently. We live next to a Sonic....and I treated to the kids to a cone.

Poor Caden has gotten hurt at my house more times than I can count.
We've had plenty of cuts, bruises, a chipped tooth, a few goose eggs and more.
This time he tripped and landed on the bed frame in Lydia's room. Poor boy!!!!

Boo Boo Bear always come to the rescue. (Ice pack).

During the rest of the weekend we built a fort! Well, I built it and they played in it.

I froze some toys in a pan of water and let them have at it!
Caden loved it so much we did it 2 days in a row.

The first day I let him use my pink hammer.

The next day I gave them some brushes and a bowl of water.

He wasn't impressed with those tools, so he found a stick.

That didn't work to his satisfaction either.....

Check out what he did next! Gosh, I love little boys!

We ate lots of yummy meals together.

Tyson bought us a random contraption, an LED faucet light . The only sink that it would actually fit on is my bathroom sink. Lydia and Caden are crazy about it, I never have a problem getting her to brush her teeth or wash her hands for the right amount of time anymore. It works great and is super fun. Cost: $2.00 on a Daily Steals site. Thanks Tyson!

It turns red when the water gets HOT!
It does work with the lights on....but everything is always more fun in the dark right.

Caden is crazy about Mickey Mouse. Tya told us that he saw the pink Minnie jammies at the store and said, "Yidia need deese!" over and over again until she bought them. Too sweet!

He bought her the Minnie mouse last year when their family went to Disney land.

I sure am grateful to have a Caden around. It is so wonderful that Lydia gets a friend to play with so often, she's learned a lot with him in our home, how to share, show empathy, how to use her words, get through conflicts, use her imagination and more. My home stays a a lot cleaner and is more calm when he's not around, but we kind of miss him too!
