The Help

My friend Sharon loaned me this book  to take to Utah with me over Christmas break, I was easily engulfed by it. However, I somehow still managed to leave on the nightstand in my old bedroom at my parents home. Eeeek! Mom mailed it and finished it quickly once it arrived.

I thoroughly enjoyed every page. I was shocked to read that it was Kathryn Stockett's very first novel, people's talent amaze me! They really do. Her words and story telling ability hit so many emotions. I laughed, I cried, I got  anxious, scared, I fell in love with those characters and my heart ached for them and their trials but also rejoiced in their small triumphs.  Its mind boggling to believe that all of that occurred not too long ago and that people were so narrow minded.

I thought the movie was extremely well done too. I won't say much more in case you've wanted to read it and haven't had the chance yet.

Those ladies sure earned their Oscar nominee's. I might just tune in to see if they win. DVR style of course.
Next on my reading list is: The Book Thief. So far, so good!
