New year and new projects

I've been wanting to work on some projects lately and fill up a few blank white walls. I found the perfect solution here. I love how inexpensive and big it was, so I went to work.

The first thing I did was make a collage of all my favorite pictures of Lydia. Then I took it to Office Depot to get it printed. It took a while for the worker to get it uploaded & formatted on his computer, so he told us to wander the store for a bit. We played some Hide & Seek in the office furniture section...I'm never that fun of a Mom. Lydia was in heaven!

Then we headed to Lowes to buy some foam board insulator. It was 8 dollars for a HUGE piece.

I used adhesive spray to stick it to the board and a serrated knife to cut it out.
(Razor blade would have been better idea but I couldn't find ours.)

The maps new home is on a big empty wall in our kitchen. Lydia is fascinated with it and asks lots of questions. So am I! I showed her all the places we've been and she wanted to know where all her cousins live. I showed her where her Dad served his mission, where Logan goes each summer and where our next trip is going to be, more on that later.

The Engineer print was made for the wall above Lydia's dresser.
I am super happy with how it turned out. It is really great quality.

I can forget to mention that the engineer print only cost $2.85.
You read that correctly. 2 dollars and 85 cents. (Total!)
I couldn't believe it! I was expecting to pay around $8. Awwwesome!!!

Awesome! Where did you find that map? We've been looking for a good one- of the whole world. And how did you hang the foam on the wall? Or do you have some kind of backing to it? :) Thanks!

I found the map at Office Depot for 5 dollars on clearance. I wanted one of the world too, but I loved the muted colors & couldn't pass it up.

I hung the small one with string and duck tape and 2 small nails. The big one wouldn't stay so we added some velcro dots and it did the trick.

You can't go wrong with 2.85. Have fun!
