How'd we do it? With a little bit of effort, we started a married friend camp out and once you got hitched you were invited to come each summer, those were a blast. The Bagg's host an annual Halloween party(that we sadly aren't able to attend anymore) and at Christmas time we get together for an Ugly Sweater dinner party. Three times a year doesn't sound like much, but it does the trick.
