We had the most marvelous time at Bear Lake, which, in my opinion, is one of the most gorgeous spots on earth. We we're tucked away in this beautiful place with very little connection to the outside world. Makes for good long days of concentrating on kids and family, building sand castles, playing at the park, jet skiing, reading, playing tennis, going for walks, watching the cousins bond, etc.
One thing I adore about Bear Lake (among the hundreds) is that entertainment comes pretty darn naturally.
Playing in the sand...for hours on end and never tiring of it.
Painting pretty toe nails.
Swimming in the lake.
Snuggling with Nana.
Catching up...we always have lots to talk about.
More sand.
Between the two of them I think they had enough swim suits to wear a new one each day and they did!
Posing for pictures.
Rapunzel sand creation.
Laughing at cousin Jake.
Yet another suit.
Painting rocks with Nana.
Lydia woke up with an upset tummy this day. Poor thing. She threw up 5 times and once we thought her stomach might be empty we brought her to the beach for some fresh air and she had a nap under the shade tent.
In other entertainment categories, every year jet skiing is a hit. That's just a given. Mom and Dad spoiled us with 2 days of Jet skiing. I could spend all day on these bad boys.
We did a lot of chillin' on the Relaxation Station. (That is really what it is called.) Dad had it anchored down and we could float all day without floating away.
We all took turns taking the Dinghy out for a row. Tyson and the kids do more of the rowing, I liked to read in it and Sarah took some good naps.
The girls had a sweet little game going called "Switch," they would switch spots about every 30 seconds. The girl at the head of the boat would say, "Switch" and then the other would say, "NO!" Then the head of the boat would sing, "Its time to switch, its time to switch"....it was sooo precious to watch. These two are in their own world most of the time.
Sorry ladies, he's married & [BIG DISCLAIMER] his wife took these pictures with my camera.
We ate like nobody's business. Mom is the most amazing cook. One this particular night we gave her the evening off and Dad treated us to Mexican at a little Mexican restaurant in Garden City for her 56th Birthday!!!
On Sunday evening we go for walks down to the beach. These two munchkins went on a 'turkey' hunt. That is what they were calling the seagulls. Where did that come from? We don't know...and we never took the time to correct it either.
Even Courtney got some good air!
So grateful for Mom and Dad and all they do to make it possible for our family to spend time up at the condo.
We found Lydia sleeping on the brick floor early one morning.
Logan was in Alaska for most of the week, but Heather drove him up the last night so we could spend time with them. Mom and Dad were thrilled to have all 4 of their grand kids together again.
His cousins worked hard to welcome him home in style.
Sunsets at Bear Lake are heavenly. Each one is unique in its own way.
We ate our last meal at this beloved place! Mmmm!
Although I am always a bit ready to come home after our week of jam packed fun at Bear Lake it has indeed become a home away from home for me. I have memories of visiting this place dated back to age 12. And I'm so I glad it is becoming just that for Lydia too.
