Weaving the Tapestry of Faith in the Heart Land

The Youth Conference pageant (the same weekend Lydia broke her arm) was just wonderful! I was quite the experience to see something of that magnitude take place. People were worried it wouldn't come together but it always does and it did in this case!

Back stage was organized chaos to say the least. They tried to make it through 2 dress rehearsals before the show. Our girls dressing room for all the main girls with 4 or more costume changes was a MAD house, one girl was in 8 numbers.... all the girls made their cues though and danced/sang like stars.

My favorite quote of the night went like this. After the first number little blond girl come leaping into the dressing room (first one back) and shouts at the top of her lungs "I LOVE BEING A MORMON!!!" My eyes quickly filled with tears. For that girl to have such a special spiritual experience on stage moments before made everything seem so worth it and I would imagine many other youth felt the same way. So neat!!!

As for me, well Tyson warned me not to but I said yes to helping anyways. It reconfirmed to me that I DO NOT like being back stage. On stage, YES, I love that too, but at least being able to watch the show. I didn't realize when I agreed to backstage that I wouldn't be able to watch the show. How sad! I did sneak away to see a few numbers, but not the whole thing obviously. Tyson and Lydia said it was wonderful and so did everyone else in attendance.

No pictures of me...just a few random ones I shot that evening.
