Life in North Salt Lake is always a little slower paced and relaxing. I quite enjoy myself. Beth and I have a routine of places we go shopping while I am visiting, it includes fabric stores, Seagull book and tape, DI in Centerville (we always find good treasures there) and the Church Distribution center. Then we do a lot of playing outside, visiting, watching movies, playing with Grandma's toys and mostly enjoy each others company.
One evening Beth took us on a little adventure. We went to North Canyon Park.It is high up on the mountain with an amazing view. On our way up we passed by President Utchdorf. He was walking with his wife. He is my all time favorite speaker, his talks always hit home and fill a special place in my heart.
I can't get over how tall she looks in this picture.
A side view of her hair cut.
We waited and watched the sunset. I love a beautiful sunset. Who doesn't? Beth and I both agreed we wouldn't mind watching it set every night.
On the way home we drove by the Bountiful B on the mountain and past the temple where Tyson and I got married. I told her she can go inside when she turns 12 and can do baptisms for the dead and she is quite excited and a little mixed up. Ha ha.
We were also priviledged to visit with Great Grandma Goodrich. She was flying home from visiting her daughter Toni and Beth was then driving her back to Tridell. She is a sweet, special lady. Lydia ate lunch with her and then sang her some songs.
Grandma's husband passed away earlier this year and she was anxious to get home and go visit him. Each day she drives to the cemetery to talk with him. She told us she had a lot to say to him about her adventures. I admire her love for him and the relationship they shared.
When Beth headed out of town to Tridell we made our way to Clearfield to visit Tyson's sister Michele and her kiddo's. The Goodworth kids were staying with her so we got to see them all!
We drove to Fremont High to watch Morgan in a play and then we came home and the kids put on a show for us in the basement. Lydia eats up anything that is musical, dancing, acting....she was mesmerized by everyone and wishing she was up on the stage too I'm sure of it.
My Aunt Gayla is serving a couples mission on Temple square she stopped by to deliver a homemade gift for Lydia. It is a crocheted doll cradle that also turns into a purse. It is ADORABLE and you know me, I love anything homemade, it means so much more knowing it was made just for her and out of love! It came with 2 little dolls, a blond Lydia doll and a brunette doll named Courtney.
During our last night in NSL we got some 2 on 1 Grandpa Goodrich time. We adore him. He is a lot of fun to spend time with and very similar to my husband in mannerisms. He took us up a trail to go on a hike, but it was closed so we played at the park instead and then eventually made our way to another mountain trail. We went up a bit until Lydia's legs had had enough. She was thrilled to be on another mountain. On our way down we stopped to pick some wild flowers and on the 2 mile drive home she fell asleep in Grandpa's truck.
Jim woke up at 3:30 a.m. the next morning to take us to the airport. We didn't have the luxury of choosing our flight time. We made it on time and he waited all the way until we got through security to go home. We appreciated that very much. Lydia has prayed for him in almost all of her prayers since.
There is no doubt about it, I married into the best family out there! I know it, and I think the world of all of them!
