We've got to stop this....we keep letting ourselves get attached to these amazing missionaries and then they up and get transferred on us. Boo. I guess that how it works.
Elder Karl came to us 4 and a half months ago. This was his very first area on his mission and I wanted to make sure he was taken care of. I've mentioned before, he is Canadian!!!! You wouldn't have known he was a greenie. He is so polite, his messages were awesome and he was just an all around good guy and missionary.
Laura Vanwagenen {an older and wiser} good friend of mine has 3 sons (and 2 daughters) and she told me once that she knew her lot in life was to raise up good missionaries for the Lord and she has done that 110 percent. (in my opinion). I hope that someday I'll get the chance to raise up some boys of my own, but for now I'll do my part to take care of our Norman 2nd ward Elders. :)
I hope that the rest of Elder Karl's mission will be fabulous and that with the Lords help he'll have tons of success!
PS. He knew the Doctor who delivered me, Dr. Dunham. and his grandma Emma Smith, is in the Champion Ward, so I'm sure that Aunt Bev and Uncle Richard know her and perhaps are even related. Who knows.
