Cordially Invited to.....

Lydia was invited to her first Princess party. 2 weeks ago. "Laura, next time don't tell her about it until the day of." Noted. Seriously, she has been SO excited about this event. The invite said, "drop her off at Kamri's house....wearing princess attire". She was looking forward to going all by herself but Jenny, the Mom asked if I'd come and help with the kids craft. I was more than happy to go.

Lydia got all dolled up in her Belle dress that Aunt Sarah gave her for Christmas. I did her hair with glitter..... she took a long nap that day and then was ready to go. You know how it is when you buy a new outfit and you feel pretty and have an extra step in your strut that day. I could tell that she really did feel soooo pretty and like such a big girl.

I won't go into too many details about the actually party, except it was fun to see all my little primary and nursery girls there, and all as quiet as can be. I helped them all make magic wands. 9 little girls all at one table, sitting in silence was so funny to witness. I don't think you'd find that at a boy party.

This is my friend Shannon Hinckley, she is super talented, has an amazing voice and is beautiful on top of that. She dresses up like princess' for parties on occasion and here she is as Belle.

Lydia was star struck at first and then cared more about the plastic high heels she found in Kamri's room then about the pretty princess singing Disney songs. (Shannon is also the birthday girls Aunt.)

I LOVE having a little girl!!!!

Aw, that's so exciting, she's getting so big. It also explains the glitter in her hair at church the next day. We all just thought she wanted to look extra pretty for nursery... ;)

So fun! Lydia is so CUTE! And I think you're right... a boy party would not be quite that quiet. :) Your comment at the beginning of the post reminded me that we just learned not to tell Ty about upcoming events until the day of. :) On a Friday night,we had told him we were going to Grandma and Grandpa's house the next morning, and he woke at 5:30 am saying he was ready to go to their house. :)
