I signed up for only one project and with Sarah's help it turned out great. The lady in charge wasn't too organized, in fact I had it just about finished, except for the magnets and we realized the board was NOT magnetic. It was just aluminum, so we had to start over.
My two year old is pretty smart, but doesn't read yet so I came home and made some pictures to go along with her magnets. I hate the word 'chore' I'll blame my Mom for that, so in my house we will call them 'jobs'. What are Lydia's jobs you might be asking yourself....well she has many believe it or not and she has fun getting them accomplished.
So far they include:
putting her pajama's under her pillow after she gets dressed,
brushing her teeth
drinking a glass of milk (this is for me to remember)
putting her shoes away
making her bed (with help)
reading the Book of Mormon
having a bath (every other day)
tidying up her room
reading books and
giving Mom & Dad a kiss.
I made a bunch more magnets and we can add them as she gets older, change them out, and when our family grows a little bit down the road we can take turns doing all of the various jobs.
Besides the project we had a lot of fun visiting the Hales. They are such a great family and Lydia adores playing with Malachi. They are a few months apart and hadn't seen each other in a few months so it was exciting to get them together.
They went nuts over the air bed I brought for Sharon to sleep on and then the next day after a tour of their town we went and saw Mater. Yep, Mater from the Pixar movie 'Cars' can be seen in Altus, Oklahoma. Too fun!
(It was so bright, we could barely keep our eyes open...Sarah couldn't so we gave up and put her sun glasses on her. Ha ha.)
Thanks for a fun weekend ladies (and Dave). You guys are awesome!
PS. We can't wait to come again and see the inside of your new house....
and next time I will make sure to bring Tyson with me he was sad to miss out.
