A 'few' things I don't want to forget:
1.When Lydia and I finish reading a book, instead of saying, "the end" like I do, she always says, "Jes Chist Amen." I have stopped trying to correct her. It is pretty cute.
2.We are just about finished reading the Book of Mormon- picture version. It was a struggle at first, but a few months later and she LOVES it. She reads it on her own and asks me to read her the, "Book of Momon". Funny things she's said through out, she referred to Alma as Elmo, the camels as reindeers.
3.Last Sunday we pulled into the parking lot and with so much enthusiasm she shouted from the back seat, "CHUUUUURCH!!!" Then as I was holding her hand and walking into the building, she said, "Mom, I YOVE church!"
4.Every night after prayers, teeth, stories....she always makes plans on what she is going to do the next day. It goes something like this, "Lydia wake up and Caden come" She bobs her head from side to side repeatedly and put her hands up like she is telling us something extremely important.
5.When Lydia does wakes up each morning, she toddles into my bedroom with her arms loaded with blankets, books, dolls....sometimes her water, random toys....it varies daily. She hands them all to me one by one and then waits for me to lift her on to my bed. She is NOT a cuddler, so we usually just lay side by side and read, sing or talk until Dad gets home from teaching seminary. Then when we hear him come in we pretend to be asleep and close are eyes. She thinks we are sooo funny.
6.I bought Lydia some used boots at a garage sale 2 summers ago. They finally fit. I let her wear them the other day and honestly just like any girl, she adored having on a new pair of boots. We were driving home from the park and I said, "Lydid do you love the park?" She replied, "Yes and I yuve boots." I could tell she felt pretty, like how you feel when you put on a brand new outfit.
6. When she becomes frustrated with something she can't do, I let her sweat it out a minute and then I ask her, "Lydia do you want Mommy to help you?" If she is determined she'll reply, "NO, Lydia help you!" As in, I'm 2, I'll do it myself. :)
7. On occasion Lydia after Lydia has gone to bed, we'll hear a holler requesting something, anything really to get us to come back in her room. The last few requests have made Tyson and I laugh....she'll shout out, "I need sandwich!!!" at the top of her lungs. "SANDWICH, SANDWICH!!!!" She'll usually go to bed after a cup of water. She is such a nut!
8. A kiss from Mom or Dad makes all of her hurt go away.
9. She never did master the phrase "Trick or Treat." This one baffled us. "Cook-a-Pea" What the? Oh and she still cannot say Grandpa or Granddad, but she always remembers to bless "PA DA" in her bedtime prayers.
