It was the Monday after Easter/General conference weekend, I had put Lydia down for her nap...she had slept for a little over 2 hours, I was sitting on the couch in the other room and I heard a distinct call for help, "MOM!"
I quickly hurried into her room and saw her hanging on the outside of her crib and as a took a step into the room she had let go and landed hard right on her left foot.
She screamed and screamed, big crocodile tears and I just held her on the couch...it was so sad. I could tell she was in a lot of pain.
I usually think of myself as an easy going mom, I go with the flow, don't mind if she gets messy...etc. But after a few minutes I made her try to stand and she couldn't or wouldn't because it hurt too bad. My carefree mom attitude turned into to panic mom mode. I was worried a little bone in her foot could be broken, so I called her doctor's office and luckily they said I could bring her on in. They did some x-rays and the next day we found it was not broken. YAY!
So we wrapped it up, gave her some Tylenol and took it easy for 2 days. She would wince every time she would try to get around, (staying put is not an easy task for a one year old) and so Daddy taught her how to crawl again. She was a lot happier to be able to move around...and it was pretty cute too.
5 days have passed and she is all better!!! She has never done this before and hopefully doesn't try climbing out again...I better start garage sale-ling for a big girl bed!

I'm glad she is feeling all better - maybe she thought her crib was like the Monkey Bars. That seriously cracks me up, I was telling Carlin all about it.
P.S. - Her hanging on the monkey bars cracks me up, I'm combining some of my comments, sorry.
OH NO! Poor girly! I hope she is doing better now!
Poor Lydia! She had to learn a lesson the hard way. :) Hopefully she'll stay in her crib awhile longer - she seems too young to be in a big girl bed yet! Glad she is doing better.
