First time for 3 out the 4

So you'd think with my background in Early Childhood I'd know that dying Easter Eggs is really not the most developmentally appropriate activity for an 18 month old. But....when Marie told me she had never done it before...ever...I thought I had better show off my mad egg dying skills. Ha ha. Ya right.

We kept it simple, let the kids color on them with crayons, dyed them and topped them off with some stickers. I think they turned out pretty cute!

...about 2 hours later....

Looks like somebody got hungry.

(I heard some crunching...and just started to laugh, I didn't even get upset,
I knew a few chews of egg shell's would be punishment enough and it was...SO gross!)

2 Favorite Easter Memories:
I remember dying easter eggs as a little girl one year at the FARM. (One of my favorite places.) I don't remember how or what they looked like, but after we had finished Aunt Bev took us to the top of a hill on her land and we rolled them down the hill. So simple....but honestly a memory I have always cherished.

Waking up at the Ash's house in Cardston, I was sleeping in Spencer's room on a bottom bunk for some reason....the room with the Ship Wall paper. Anyways, I woke up to find a string taped to my bed. I had to follow that string ALL over the ENTIRE house to find my Easter basket. It wasn't easy, all the kids in the house had a string to also follow...quite the mess, but so much fun. I want to do this tradition for sure with my kids.

I have heard about numerous Easter egg hunts around town this week...but I want to keep the chocolate and bunny fun to a minimum. The Easter Bunny always came to visit my family Saturday.... and Sunday was a day to remember the life, atonement and resurrection of the Savior. I will do the same with Lydia.

Where to begin...? K, love the easter egg decorating, too funny about Lydia eating them. Hahahahaha!! Poor little thing. Love both your memories about Easter, my favorite is waking up with all the yarn. Think I'm going to do that this year? Still deciding??? Love that Lydia loves President Monson. Love you so much !!!

How fun! I have so many great memories dyeing eggs and rolling them too. I don't think it is going to happen this year though.

Hi Laura, your Easter pictures of Lydia with her Easter egss were so cute. Your two memories of Easter were great. During our drive to SLC Friday evening with Bev & Richard, we all talked about your Easter memories on your blog and how fun it was. Have a great Easter General Conference weekend. Love, Dad
