One fun adventure that took place in November was a bike ride in Anniston, Alabama. We joined the Canty's and drove about an hour and a half to get to the trail. They turned an old train track into a bike bath that goes from Alabama all the way to Georgia. It was nice and flat and a beautiful day for a ride. Someday Tyson wants to ride the entire trail.
My little pal Caroline.
The kids found a forest of bamboo. It was pretty great.
We collected lots of pecan that had fallen from the trees.
The kids here get an entire week off for Thanksgiving break. Next year we will plan a little trip or something. This year we stayed home and one afternoon I caught Lydia watching TV while making her own lunch. Silly girl.
After a Stake Primary meeting I stopped at Trader Joes and thought that Tyson would like to buy me some flowers.
I love having fresh flowers in the house and so does Lewis.
Tyson has had these HUGE read sweat pants since his mission and Lydia decided to try them on and make us laugh one night. She succeeded.
This guy takes good care of our vehicles. He spent hours cleaning my truck one Saturday afternoon. It looked brand spanking new.
If Lydia ever needs us in the night because of a bad dream or she is feeling sick.....etc. She climbs in and I always end up leaving to go and sleep in her bed. Its just what I do.
We took Lydia to go and see Wonder over Thanksgiving break. I decided to prepare her a little and told her a little about the plot. It made her nervous. It is a pretty intense movie, it gave us lots to talk about on the way home.
They are starting to put up the wall on the home across the street.
Lydia was my pie assistant for Thanksgiving. She stayed with every step of the way starting with our homemade crusts. I was also incharge of bringing the mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing.
She mostly worked on the Pecan Pie. (Margaret Coles recipe) The recipe doesn't call for freshly shelled pecans but Lydia's pie had them.
Then we finished it off with the Apple Crisp Caramel Pie. A pioneer woman recipe that I make at least once a year. It is a crowd favorite.
Lydia take piano lesson and her lesson time is right during dinner time and her teacher doesn't live too close to us so we often go out to eat after piano. Full Moon Barbecue is a favorite place. Tyson and I usually share the baked potato. Check out the size of that puppy. It is huge!
We spent Thanksgiving dinner at the Holts home along with the Nielson family. It was so chill and relaxed, we almost felt like we were among family.
After a delicious dinner we played lots of games and then stayed up late talking. I was tired and struggling to be around food at this point in my pregnancy but I faked it as best as I could.
Our host told us to bring containers for leftovers which was an excellent idea. We had enough food, we could have invited two or three more families. Instead we all had food to feed our families for the next few days so I'm not complaining.
