We were so lucky to get to spend Christmas with the Cole family. They moved to the Boston area almost two years ago and we have been wanting to pay them a visit ever since. We arrived Dec 24th, mid day. So we jumped right into celebrating Christmas!
On Christmas eve the kiddos acted out the Nativity, we watched the movie, A Christmas Dress for Ellen. Mav groaned after 10 minutes, he wasn't impressed until we told him that Heather and Logan were in the movie. Then we tucked the kiddos in bed and watched Uncle Scott go to town. He loves Christmas and wanted everything to be perfect.
My attempt of the Christmas on the stairs shot turned about like this.
It was snowing when we woke up and continued to do so all day long. That part was perfect!
We let the kids open up their stockings first. Then we took a break and made a hot breakfast. (Our tradition.)
Every one took turns opening presents and we went pretty slow to make it last a long time.
Mav is at such a fun age. He got excited over every little thing he got and groaned at having to open SOFT presents, after he realized they were clothes. Ha ha.
The girls opened up the cutest matching pajamas the night before Christmas and accessorized them with BFF necklaces.
Nana and Grandad gave the Coles all brand new Minkie blankets. They were thrilled!
Nana and Granddad and Margaret and Larry all joined us via Face Time. We took turns holding the phones and then propped em up like this.
The Coles gave Lydia a Ukulele and Tyson has been learning lots of new songs and getting pretty good. Lydia and I can play Skip to my Lou, an old favorite of Grandpa Goodrich's.
After all of the family gift exchanges the kids opened up a gift from Santa.
Then after everything was unwrapped and Tyson had cleaned up the wrapping paper, (his favorite thing to do...ha ha) we found one more present hiding in the tree. It was for the Cole family, from us.
Inside was an envelope for each of them announcing that they were going to have another cousin!!!
We recorded it and man did they have some precious reactions. Sarah was in tears. The same way I reacted and Courtney face was super cute. I will have to upload the video and share it.
The rest of the day was spent in pajama's, eating yummy food, calling family, playing with new toys and a few little naps. Oh yes and I can't forget that when we are with the Coles on Christmas we watch a Christmas Story non stop all day long. Ha ha. Its true and its tradition.
The end.
