Moving In

Move in day finally came....we were so excited. We had been living in our a home or a few days with no belongings, which is a little bit fun in and of itself, but our own bed was calling our name and I was more than happy to deflate the airbeds.

The movers arrived with no tools and were not able to open our crates. (insert eye roll emoji). One of the movers asked if we had a hammer they could borrow and I pointed to the crates and told him "everything we own is in there."  I went to our one and only friend/neighbor and borrowed some hammers and crow bars and then they got to work.

My lovely moving day job is to account for every box they bring into the house. They give me the number, I mark it off and tell them where to take it. It is stressful in its own way and not my favorite thing to do since they are often hard to understand but somehow it always ends up being my job.

I read this book on moving day. It was fabulous and gave me so many good ideas.

We fed them Subway for lunch and pizza for dinner. They were pretty good workers.

When Lydia arrived home from school she was put on paper duty.
Our military move includes help from the movers in setting up tables, chairs and beds.
Tyson helped teach them how to do it all. Ha ha.

After we fed them dinner I decided to give Johne a call and chat. Tyson came downstairs and asked me where the movers were. I went outside assuming they were by the truck and nope, they had left. They didn't finish packing up all the empty boxes and paper like agreed upon. They just up and left without saying goodbye. I was disappointed that I didn't tell them one last thank you and thought that was odd of them. Tyson called the company and let them know we needed someone to come back and finish and they eventually did. Strange, but oh well, everything arrived, only one broken book shelf, so that is a win. And boy did it feel good to be back in our own bed after months and a couch. I think I missed our soft couches the most.
